Hackney Parish Almshouse Charity

Providing homes to those in need within the London Borough of Hackney.

Who we are

The Hackney Parish Almshouses Charity provides safe, comfortable, and affordable housing for local people in financial need, offering 46 homes across three sites in the London Borough of Hackney.

With a history dating back to the 17th century, the charity brings together the legacies of Dr Spurstowe, Bishop Wood, Henry Monger, and Henry Handley Norris to support older residents, who have a strong connection to Hackney and lack the means to secure suitable housing.

By maintaining and managing almshouse accommodation, the charity continues its long-standing commitment to helping the community live with dignity and security.
